Cheryl
”My name is Cheryl and I have finally entered the teen years of my faith! 13 years walking in the shadow of Abba’s wing in April 2009
Mark and I will celebrate our 21st anniversary in June, the same day our son, Nick, graduates from high school. Nick, being our youngest, makes the next chapter of our lives interesting as we begin the transition to being empty nesters. We have two kids, Marissa being our oldest at almost 20- working on her degree at JWU in Charlotte, NC, for now.I am a BridgeAsia volunteer whose heart has been burdened for Japan. I have been a volunteer almost from the inception of the program. This trip, through ServeAsia, will be the culmination of my time as a Prayer Leader for Japan. This is my 4rd trip back to Japan as an adult. I am both excited and humbled to see how God will use our willingness for His glory! I love being creative, though often life’s urgency eclipses the opportunities I have in that realm. God is showing me that the creativity is a gift from Him to show His glory and I am working through that, trying to get out of the way. Currently, my creative outlets are knitting and gardening. I’ve dabbled in painting and love to read. Helping to shape and mold others is probably the most beautiful thing God allows me to do. And for that, I am thankful for His equipping and time/resource allocation.” Cerca Trova,Cheryl

Pat
“I am 56 years old; I work with OMF International as Director for Mobilization in the Southest region of the U.S.; became a follower of Jesus in 1972; Faith and I went to Japan on a short-term mission trip in 1980, we went back to Japan as church planters in 1984 and stayed there for 24 years. Faith and I have three children, Catherine (26), Philip (22) and Christopher (20). I love reading (all kinds of stuff), listening to music (all kinds of stuff), playing guitar, and people who are interested in reaching Japan for Jesus. I hate flying, don’t like sushi, and can’t eat rice. I love green tea, but hate green-tea flavored ice cream.” Pat

Josh
” I’m 25 years old, comfortably single, and have moved 14 times in my life. I am a computer scientist by trade, and a philosopher by heart. I have been a firm believer in and follower of Christ my entire life, and I am still surprised at the lessons I can find myself learning. I have been intrigued by Japan for about 8 years now, and have come to enjoy “Animé” and J-Pop music. I also enjoy reading some fantasy novels, playing computer games, taking long walks, and doing new things. However, I am also very much an introvert/loner. ” Josh

Greg
“I was born in Torrington Connecticut in 1962. I moved around a good bit in my youth; living in Florida, California, and Maryland. I was married to my wife Caterina 1992, and I became a Christian in 1997. I live in Norton Massachussetts, and have two girls: Caris, born in 2000, and Tessa, born in 2005. I meet in weekly worship with an assembly fellow believers at Bethany Gospel Chapel in Swansea, Massachusetts.” Greg

Anna
“Hi! I’m Anna and I am 28 years old. Although my hair is a bit shorter now than in this picture, this picture expresses a lot of who I am. Pictured is one of my former students and I meeting up for dinner with her and her family. My students have been a huge part of my life these last six years. I have been teaching in a public school which some have described as “a difficult school” due to the high poverty rate and the difficult lives many of the children have. For some students, the school and class family is the only “family” they have. It is a joy to serve Christ in this way. I myself grew up in the church and came to know Christ at a young age but grew the most in my college, when God’s Word really became alive and I more fully understood the impact of Christ’s death and resurrection in my life. Here are a few of the things I love other than teaching: reading Christian living inspirational books, writing about God’s work in my life and writing in general, laughing and finding humor in the ordinary events of life, painting (watercolor), baking treats for my parents and brothers, and pretty much anything “creative” and artistic (including drawing, creating, putting together gift baskets or making “cercies” for people… and the like). I have never been to Japan before, but over the years have developed a heart for the Japanese people as I’ve had several Japanese friends through the years.”

Veronica
“I am 49 years old; originally from Pennsylvania, but I have lived in Massachusetts for the past 32 years. I have been married to my husband, Cliff for 8.5yrs. We have no children. I have been working as a probation officer for the past 25 years. I grew up in a Christian home, but made the commitment to Christ just as I was getting married. My husband is not a Christ-follower, though he knows how important it is to me. I have never been to Japan, but have a friend in Sendai. She and I were pen pals for many years and became friends. She visited me about 18 years ago. I am pleased to visit her. I enjoy music, reading and emailing. I am excited to visit to share my faith in Christ. I love talking to people and learning new things. I love yakisoba, but don’t eat sushi or octopus. Dessert is my favorite part of the meal.” Veronica

Victoria
“My name is Victoria. I just recently turned the ripe age of 25! Whoo hoo! I married my husband, Joey, three years ago, and we recently purchased our first home in Oxford MA. We attend Lifesong Church in Millbury Ma, of which we’re both actively involved in. I’m work full time as a Dental Assistant at Bryan Dental. I became a Christian at 9 years old, however re-commited my life to Christ at 20 years old. This will be my first trip to Japan. I’m very much looking forward to growing and serving, and help being a part in something larger than myself!
Praying for all of you every day!
